The Palisade doorbell cover will add a wonderful touch to your arts and crafts decor. It hangs easily over most doorbells with the inside dimensions of the doorbell cover being 2 1/2" deep, 9" tall and 8 3/8" wide. The outside dimensions of the doorbell cover are 4" deep, 10 3/8" tall and 12" wide (includes top). The opening will accommodate one 6" x 6" tile. The tiles are 5/8 of an inch thick. The tile is handmade by the Arts and Craftsman Tileworks where it is hand glazed in beautiful matte pastel glazes.The doorbell cover is made from quartersawn white oak and is built so sturdily that it will last throughout the ages. The finish is traditional to the period with a custom mission stain followed with a satin clear coat and a hand rubbed dark paste wax to protect it for decades to come. Installation is simple with hardware being provided. This doorbell cover is not able to have a bottom added due to the tile. If there was a bottom, the sound of the chime could not escape. The chime unit is a true mechanical chime, not a computer generated sound.
